The practice is owned and managed by Audrey Baker who has been a practising psychotherapist in private practice for over twenty years. She has also worked in voluntary and NHS settings, where she had responsibility for groups of counsellors.

Baker-Vaughan Counselling Services takes referrals from many G.P.s across the county, also from industry – several Human Resource Departments make regular use of our package of brief counselling for their troubled employees.

We provide counselling services in four schools in the city and county where the counsellor works with the school timetable, and with teachers, on child-protection issues.

We also take referrals from the schools where we provide a service for students, from teachers who are struggling. This service is provided at a reduced rate.

Other referrals come from social services, probation, health professionals, trainers, health and safety officers, and – most notably – from satisfied ex-clients.

The Premises:
Our comfortable counselling rooms have been purpose-designed to create a safe, peaceful space to help our clients to feel able to talk feely. This is a country setting, with trees around, and not overlooked.

There I ample safe parking, wheelchair access, and the rooms are all on the ground floor.
